Section 6
Christmas '05.
Ok, I hadn't done much work on the cabinet for a long time, knowing that one day, I would get "the bug" again and do some more. Well, that day came during the Christmas holidays. I got out some wood filler, tools, sandpaper and paint.

| Molly applied the first bit of paint to the unit for me. | I then did the bits she couldn't reach. The paint was supposed to be specifically for MDF. It was as thick as tar and went tacky and glue-like after about two minutes. I'm sorry to say I think it has ruined the look of my cabinet. |

| I followed the instructions, did what it said and it looked awful. After two coats, it looked a bit better, but you can see every single imperfection in the MDF, and some new ones caused by the paint itself. I suppose it may look better after three coats. |
To get over the upset of having a horrid paint job on it, I decided to upgrade the system by putting a DVD in there instead of an ordinary CD drive. Here's a picture. Molly is in my bed watching it at this point. It has a pretty good stereo sound system, so it's great for music playing as well as DVDs.

Smile and wave boys... just smile and wave.
Here's the latest shot of it. Now with steel panels added and Perspex frontage.

Yeah, looks a bit tatty. Needs some work but I can't be arsed.
