THE APOSTROPHE EXCHANGE
PROGRAMME
OFFICIAL HOMEPAGE
| Welcome to the official
homepage of The AEP - The Apostrophe Exchange Programme. This is how it works; Let's say for example I am passing a shop and I happen to notice there is a superfluous apostrophe on their frontage, I will make a mental note of the whereabouts of this shop. Later I may pass another shop or business that does not have an apostrophe where one is required. Bingo! I now print out two apostrophe exchange notices and hand one in to each establishment. Each document details where their error is, and also gives information on somebody else's 'mirror image' error. Now the single apostrophe in question has been officially exchanged by the AEP, and we can feel a bit better about it all. This is an entirely free (and essential to the good of mankind) service. It is required that after an establishment has been issued with an AEP notice, they display it in a prominent position. If you wish to take part in the programme, you are free to do so, it's entirely voluntary. All you have to do is print out the document, check the boxes, fill in the blanks then issue it to the offenders. It would be good if you could get a friend to take photographs and/or video of the serving of the notices, so they can be displayed on this page. Be warned though, as these people are obviously of below average intelligence, do not put yourself at risk. If the situation creates tension and looks like it may turn ugly, leave immediately and allow them to wallow on their own stupidity. Photos of this would be great too. You may then serve their AEP notice by post. Click here to download a pdf of the official exchange notice. Print two, fill in the details and issue them to the offenders.
